We are the sole ShangRing distributor in Australia and our aim is to ease the procedure for adults looking to lead a healthy life post-circumcision. The ShangRing is a small medical device used in circumcision procedures that provides an easy, quick, safe and effective method to perform adult male circumcision. Compared to conventional adult circumcision, the ShangRing method has a shorter operation time, less blood loss, less pain score, higher appearance satisfaction rate and a lower complication rate.

Frequently asked questions :

Yes. The ShangRing has gone through rigorous testing and has been awarded with certifications and approvals from the top medical regulation organisations around the globe, including, but not limited to: the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).

The ShangRing has many advantages over other medical circumcision devices. The biggest advantage of using the ShangRing is that it results in a very quick process that only requires local anesthesia. Patients who use the ShangRing are able to return to their homes immediately after circumcision and remain at their own home during the quick recovery process. The circumcision process using the ShangRing includes little to no pain during and after the procedure. Not to mention, the excellent cosmetic outcomes from the procedure.

There are many benefits that come with undergoing a ShangRing circumcision such as increased hygiene, keeping within one’s own religious views, and achieving a desired cosmetic appearance. Additionally, many of our patients struggle with phimosis (when a patient is unable to pull back their foreskin). Using the ShangRing during the circumcision procedure can help to decrease risk of infection, pain, bleeding and other side effects that come along with phimosis. Other patients want a circumcision to decrease pain during sex or inflammation or irritation of their foreskin (balanitis). Using the ShangRing during the circumcision procedure can help with all of these things.

The ShangRing is composed of two concentric medical grade plastic rings that act as a ligature. First, to start the procedure, the appropriate size the patient needs is determined by the use of a measuring strip. Next, the outer ring of the ShangRing is placed outside of the patient’s foreskin and locks against the inner ring. When the ShangRing is snapped together, the patient’s distal foreskin is excised. The ShangRing is then removed after one week. Next, the outer ring locking mechanism is opened using a special tool. Finally, a pair of scissors, specifically designed for this purpose, is then used to remove the inner ring of the ShangRing.
